Fast And Easy
Everyone loves sugar cookies but not everyone has time to make them and that’s where these frosted sugar cookie bars come into play. You’ll have these bars ready in no time. They’re soft with slight chewiness and remind me of bakery-style sugar cookies. You know, the thick cookies that are frosted with sprinkles and just melt in your mouth. Same goes for these bars. The bars are as easy to make as using a package of Krusteaz Butter Vanilla Sugar Cookie Mix.
The Krusteaz mixes always give me great results like these Snickerdoodle Bars and no one ever suspects I used a mix. Sometimes you just gotta do what you’ve gotta do.
Cream Cheese Frosting And Sprinkles
The cream cheese frosting is a lovely complement to these festive Valentine’s Day-themed bars. You can even cheat and use a tub of store bought cream cheese frosting if you’re pressed for time. No one will have any idea. I added just two drops of red food coloring to the frosting. I was going for a pale pink shade and two drops was all it took. Since all food color varies, my advice is add it slowly and mix well after every drop or two. Everything is better with sprinkles (technically nonpareils here) and seeing the Valentines sprinkles will automatically put everyone in a festive mood. As a baking tip, you can swap out the Valentines sprinkles for pastel ones in just a few months for Easter or with red, white, and blue ones for the Fourth of July. Flexible and versatile recipes are always the ones that get made, time and time again.
