Here are a few pictures of Skylar and I as we were getting ready to go for our walk yesterday.  It’s winter here.   You know, like 60F.  Which is why we’re all bundled up. She begs to wear her pink fluffy coat and pink Uggs.  Good thing other people in So Cal wear Uggs year round.  She’ll fit right in.     It was a pretty mellow stroll, so after that, I came inside and did a 20 Minute At-Home Workout.   A few yoga moves, some abs, a little lifting, whatever I could manage in 20 minutes. For a snack yesterday I took some of my Hearty Vegan Southwestern Sweet & Spicy Soup But rather than eating it in a bowl… I topped a couple rice cakes with some Hearty Vegan Southwestern Sweet & Spicy Soup and added extra carrots, tomato chunks, broccoli, edamame, and microwaved it.  And completed my snack with a ketchup drizzle.  I love ketchup!   Thanks for the compliments on my Microwave Banana Oat Cakes recipe yesterday and for telling me how you like to eat your oats and your bananas.   Whether you like them plain or in other things and your go-to recipes. Glad the lack of egg whites, egg replacers, flours, and protein powders was a hit with you.  And that most of you don’t fear the microwave either.     If the Oat Cakes aren’t your thing, maybe chocolate is? Raw Vegan Chocolate Coconut Snowballs No bake, one bowl + spoon, freezer.  Done.   Tip: Did you see my Give Away for NuNaturals Stevia for 4 Winners? Questions 1. Best Thing You Ate or Did Over the Weekend? Mine was just being with my family.    Reorganizing is great, and so are Banana Oat Cakes and soup on crackers is tasty, but just being with the fam is the best. 2. Do you eat your snacks or meals in deconstructed ways or in unique ways? I posted the other day about making wraps.  And although they are pretty, it’s easier sometimes to just eat the veggies deconstructed style, i.e. in a salad, because it does save time.   Sometimes I like throwing soup on a few crackers or rice cakes because it’s fast and sometimes I don’t want a whole bowl of soup and I want other flavors, too, or more veggies, so I’ll mix and match things, and deconstruct one thing and create something else.  Not to mention, when I was a kid, I used to eat a little soup with my crackers.  I could crumble half a sleeve of Saltine crackers into one bowl of soup and I loved every salty second. Do you mix-and-match your food and deconstruct and reinvent your foods or do you keep it more traditional?   What are your interesting food combinations?  Green Juice anyone? 3. What made you smile today? Knowing that spring is closer now than it was a month ago makes me smile!
