Easy Roast Beef Sliders Recipe

When it comes time to decide what to serve for Father’s Day events, graduation parties, a game day party or event, a backyard barbecue, a picnic or potluck, or even a family friendly weeknight dinner recipe, these juicy roast beef sliders are an excellent choice. I mean, who can resist a handheld warm sandwich chock full of juicy roast beef and melty cheese?! Soft Hawaiian rolls are stuffed with sauteed onions and green peppers, tender roast beef, and the Provolone cheese I use in my roast beef sliders melts so perfectly. Before baking, I brush these roast beef sandwiches with a mixture of melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic for even more flavor. Roast beef sliders are a fast and easy recipe. In just about 30 minutes, you’ll be ready to dig in and devour one.

How to Make Hawaiian Roll Roast Beef Sliders

Making roast beef sliders is very easy with minimal prep time. After all, sliders are just smaller sandwiches – at least that’s how I think of them. And making sandwiches isn’t rocket science. Follow these easy and straightforward instructions for the best roast beef sliders. Step 1: Slice and place the Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls in a baking pan. Step 2: Saute green peppers and onions in a bit of olive oil in a skillet. Step 3: Add the roast beef, garlic salt, and cook for another 3 minutes. Step 4: Add the roast beef and vegetable mixture on the bottom side of each roll. Yes I promise the buns really are under that mountain of goodness that obscures the view! Step 5: Place the cheese slices over the top. Step 6: Add the tops of the Hawaiian sweet roll slider buns and brush with a mixture of a few tablespoons of melted butter, Worcestershire, and sprinkle garlic. Step 7: Wrap with aluminum foil and bake for about 15 minutes. Step 8: Remove the foil and bake for 5 more minutes, or until lightly golden browned on top before serving. Cooking time will vary a bit based how toasted you like your buns.

What Kind of Roast Beef Is Best for Sliders?

I use thinly sliced roast beef from the deli counter inside my grocery store. You need one pound. This is fast, easy, and foolproof. Horseradish, horseradish mayo, or another horseradish sauce are also nice if you want an extra punch of bold flavor. If you want to make beef au jus, by all means do it if you love extra juiciness and want more of a French dip sliders recipe. However I don’t find this necessary because these sliders are very juicy and finger licking good as-is! The other option is buying it prepackaged, also likely from the deli area of the grocery store. This is perhaps a bit cheaper but I think the taste and quality is better if you have them slice it for you but do what’s best for you. If you have your own homemade roast beef on hand, by all means use it.

Can I Use Another Type of Meat?

As an alternative, you can also use pulled pork such as my Slow Cooker Pulled Pork or Slow Cooker Cherry Cola Pulled Pork. Another idea is corned beef or sliced deli ham. Although if you’ve got ham on the brain, I’ve got just the recipe for you!

Storing Extra Beef Sliders

Sandwiches of any kind are best made and eaten fresh. If you do have extra sliders, they will keep airtight in the refrigerator for about 3 days. I’ve never stored them in the freezer. Note that the Hawaiian rolls will get soggy as time passes. There is nothing to be done to avoid it – it’s just the nature of a juicy sandwich over time and the bread it’s on.
