This is what the award is for… “This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant. This award is about bloggers who post from their heart, who oftentimes put their heart on display as they write from the depths of their soul.” There are three rules that need to be followed upon accepting this award. 1)Brag about it 2)Select 7 Blogs you find brilliant and link to them 3)List 10 honest things about yourself So, I can do #1 (brag about it). I recently started this blog but in a short time I have poured my little heart and soul into this bad boy and I am really happy that I am being recognized and honored by the food blogging community. I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and dammit, people like me :) 2) Seven blogs I find brilliant (in no particular order). I would list Justine’s blog, aka The Confession & Honesty Diva herself, as numero uno but since she’s already been tagged, here are 7 others: a.https://heathereatsalmondbutter.com/ b.https://www.kristensraw.blogspot.com/ c.https://www.choosingraw.com/ d.https://www.fitnessista.com/ e.https://veggiegirlvegan.blogspot.com/ f.https://www.girlonraw.com/ g.https://www.lovinmytummy.wordpress.com/ (Even though she’s blogging in stealth mode these days, here’s to hopin’ Sarah comes back out to the forefront!) 3) Ten honest things about myself…Well, Justine said in her post that I had Hot Abs. So #1 would be that I do work at my body and looking good is very important to me. This pic was taken this morning after a run and before ashtanga yoga. #2 I graduated high school when I was 16 with a 4.0 GPA and graduated cum laude with my BA in Psychology at age 20. #3 My daughter is the most important person in the world to me.
#4 My husband is a close second. How do you pick, really, who ranks higher between your spouse and your child? #5 In my early 20s, I lived on Triscuits & PB, Vodka, Maraschino cherries, and not much else. If someone told me then that I’d be a food blogger, I’d have laughed and told ’em to pour me another drink! #6 Becoming a mother was the single most life-changing event. It helped me discover the person I was meant to become. #7 I am only going to have one child. #8 My husband is 17 years older than I am. #9 We own a home on the island of Aruba and have many times considered living there full-time and forgetting about the American Dream, I mean American Rat Race. #10 I cannot go a day without exercise. Either yoga, running, walking, quick crunches or pilates moves, I do something, every single day. No matter what. I never skip a workout. Ever. Wow, I hope I didn’t bore anyone or that those weren’t too random. Since this is a food blog after all, here was last night’s dinner. *Broc *Greens *Carrots *Sun Dried Tomatoes *Brussels’s Sprouts *Agave, Juice of 1/2 orange, and Crack Black And here was brekky so far today. An organic TJ’s white peach. Gonna miss it when peaches go out of season and cardboardy for a few months and then non-existent for many more months. One scoop of Jay in water. Protein, just get er done. I am feeling really good that I was honored. It makes me grateful. That’s my Tip of the Day: Be Grateful. When the chips are down and the last thing you feel like being is grateful, that’s probably the time you need it the most. I have reminded myself that I have my health, my family, and a million other awesome things and remembering that and giving thanks and gratitude for what I do have helps to diminish some of the drama I am going through right now. :) Averie
