How to make Butterbeer:
Add apple cider, Werther’s caramel, allspice and cinnamon to a saucepan. Stir over medium heat until melted and smooth. Add extracts. I wanted to recreate this drink at home so we can enjoy it while we snuggle up to read Harry Potter books, watch the movies, enjoy on Halloween, or any fun party. For all of my Harry Potter fans out there, let me know what house you are in the comments. I’m a Ravenclaw! For Warm Butterbeer: Add room temperature cream soda to the pot and cook until hot. Ladle into cups, top with whipped cream and drizzle of butterscotch syrup. For Cold Butterbeer: Allow butterscotch mixture to cool completely, then ladle ¼ cup into a serving glass and top with 1 cup chilled cream soda. Top homemade butterbeer with whipped cream and drizzle of butterscotch syrup, if desired.
Storage and Make Ahead Instructions:
To Store: This Harry Potter butterbeer drink is intended to be served immediately. If you have leftover butterscotch syrup, keep it in an airtight container in the fridge. To Make Ahead: The butterscotch syrup can be made a few days in advance and kept in the fridge until ready to assemble and serve.
