Raw Food Yoga Faqs

Thanks everyone for the props on the Raw Vegan Apple Crumble from yesterday! I’ve had rave reviews from people who’s made it in the past and can’t wait to see who else tries the appley goodness! And I totally appreciated your kind words about my home redecorating and your commute-time passing ideas. Recently I did a guest post on Janetha’s Blog. I am not sure if you saw it and so I wanted to re-post it here on my own blog....

Redecorating Raw Vegan Apple Crumble

I’m glad you enjoyed the Raw Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls. They are one of my fave desserts because they are sooo easy and satisfying! And the apple crumble recipe that I’m going to give you is the same: so easy, so satisfying! But first… Remember a couple weeks ago when I posted some of the pics of my new bedroom furniture but the nightstand I wanted was on back order?...

Roasted Mushroom Sandwich With Horseradish Aioli Recipe

comment icon 29 more comments Really, all my favorite food ideas come from Ang. Texas-style chili, chicken wraps, and the famous tortellini soup. I got a text a few weeks ago from Ang with a photo of her sandwich – like friends do – which was layers of roast beef, arugula, havarti, and horseradish aioli on the caramelized onion focaccia from Trader Joe’s. I spent at least 10 minutes just zoomed in on the photo, examining every saucy detail....

Salted Caramel Apple Upside Down Cake Recipe

comment icon 125 more comments Today I’m back at work after a delicious weekend at an apple orchard in Washington, and I think it’s pretty obvious that I’d really rather be sleeping on a pillow of this cake than putting on the ol’ black dress pants and hanging a five-point scale on a lanyard around my neck and saying things like “show five” in my pretend calm voice all day....

Saucy Gochujang Noodles With Chicken Recipe

Summer has summer-ed and the outside shouldn’t hog all the heat for itself, let the sauce have some! Thank you ever so to the subtle heat of the gochujang sauce and rich creaminess of the peanut butter, thank you to the twisty twirls of the little ramen noodle bricks, and bless those piles of fresh herbs on top. comment icon 175 more comments This new pal is so easy to throw together you might just find yourself making it again and again and ok yes sure, why not one more time this week....

Sheet Pan Asian Salmon And Broccoli

Easy Sheet Pan Salmon and Broccoli In a word, this Asian baked salmon heavenly. It far exceeds any piece of salmon you’d get in a fancy restaurant and only uses seven ingredients. The Asian-style salmon is tender, moist, not overcooked in the least (my pet peeve is overcooked fish and restaurants are notorious for this), and the broccoli remains perfectly crisp-tender and so juicy from the sauce. The broccoli florets are the perfect little sponges to absorb runoff sauce that falls from the salmon, which is why I strategically used broccoli and then positioned it directly next to the salmon....

Six Ingredient Sausage Potato Pie Recipe

Friends, meet Six Ingredient Sausage Potato Pie. This beauty is sort of like an egg bake in the most delicious of all the ways, except 1) no bread, 2) no soaking overnight, 3) no cheese. rolls on ground laughing oh my gosh, that would be sooo funny. But this is also like a pie because when you bake things in circle pans, even without a crust, then you can call them pie and life is more fun....

Slow Cooker Pear And Sausage Stuffing

I really mean business with this Thanksgiving stuff now. Beyond any shadow of a doubt, stuffing is my absolute all time favorite of the Thanksgiving foods. Turkey and mashed potatoes are good, but it’s not really Thanksgiving to me without the cozy herbed bread cubes baked into that crispy, dense texture that only stuffing can have. And even though stuffing works any time of year and it’s one of my favorite foods evvv-errr, somehow Thanksgiving is really the only time of year that feels appropriate to eat this carby goodness....

Smoked Almond And Goat Cheese Salad Recipe

5 years: Indulged in greasy pizza and glittery prizes at Chuck E. Cheese. 10 years: Opened my best present yet: a set of Pogs (not to be confused with Pugs). 15 years: Celebrated with a murder mystery party. Don’t ask. And mom and dad – thanks. 20 years: Was serenaded with “Happy Birthday” by the staff at Buca di Beppo… in the ladies’ room. Yes, they came in and found me....

Smores Brownie Pie

Chocolate Brownie Pie with Marshmallows No campfire handy? No desire to ever sit around a campfire? I totally understand. Make indoor smores instead. Unless you’re really into camping or are lucky enough to have a backyard firepit, smores over a campfire isn’t the norm for most of us. Luckily, most of us have ovens with broilers. Plus I have no patience to roast my marshmallows evenly and dip them directly into the fire....

Soft And Chewy Sugar Cookies Tastes Better From Scratch

You’ll notice I use shortening instead of butter in my sugar cookies, and that is because I’ve tested them both ways and found that shortening yields a much softer cookie, that doesn’t get hard after cooling and storing. They last longer and freeze beautifully. You can substitute butter if you want, but the results will not be quite the same. Did you know that sugar cookies are the most popular Christmas cookie?...

Soft Frosted Double Chocolate Cookies

The BEST Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies If there’s something better than chocolate cookies topped with cream cheese frosting and chocolate sprinkles, I want to know about it. These double chocolate chip cookies are slightly chewy around the edges with super soft with tender, pillowy centers. There’s plenty of chocolate chips in every bite. The dough base is adapted from my Frosted Holiday Sprinkles Cookies. It’s one of my favorite bases and I chocolate-ified it....

Spicy Basil Chicken Recipe Quick Easy

Easy Spicy Basil Chicken Recipe This recipe is a spinoff of my Better-Than-Takeout Sticky Chicken. I love that chicken so much and decided to make a basil-infused version. The chicken is ridiculously tender and loaded with authentic Asian flavors that keep you going back for one more juicy bite. The sauce is just sweet enough, but is balanced with the tang of the vinegar, the saltiness from the soy sauce, and you can make it as spicy (or not) as you like with the chili garlic sauce....

Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie

Fresh Strawberry Smoothie Recipe I’m in my glory now that strawberry season is in full effect. I have recipes for strawberry muffins, sweet rolls, cake, coffee cake, scones, pancakes, banana bread, and more. And there’s always room for another strawberry recipe. Especially for a refreshing smoothie that tastes like strawberry shortcake. I made it in honor of National Strawberry Shortcake Day, which is June 14. Strawberry Shortcake has been a classic American dessert for over 100 years, and Driscoll’s has been the strawberry in everyone’s shortcake for more than 100 years....

It’s the summer version of the winter bliss bowls and it’s basically the best thing my bowl-loving self could want in the month of August. Question. Sweet Soft Cherry Bread With Cherry Almond Glaze

Grandma’s Sweet Cherry Bread My grandma used to make the best cherry bread. I’d give anything to watch her make it again and write down what she did. But since that will never happen, I had about 17 emails up and back dialoguing with my mom about how she thought Grandma made it. My mom pieced together some of her own notes and a recipe from a 1948 cookbook that she thinks is what my grandma used....

The Food You Need To Be Eating At Target Field This Summer

Alright, kids. You know that feeling you get when at a sporting event that you are medium-interested in (sorry, baseball) but crazy-excited about for food reasons? And you start to realize that it’s about time for your first food purchase of the game, and this moment is golden, right? It is a blank slate of possibility – WHAT ARE YOU EVEN GOING TO GET? But then, reality hits and you start to run through the possibilities....

The Ultimate Egg Muffin Breakfast Sandwich

It also happens to be fast, easy, and on the healthier side. In less than 10 minutes you could be eating this sandwich rather than a bowl of cereal. I count that as a major breakfast win. Eggs pack a protein punch and I love my eggs with juicy tomatoes. There’s creamy avocado with healthy fats to keep you satisfied longer. Everything is sandwiched inside a Thomas’ Light Multi-Grain English Muffin....

Thick And Soft Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

I made these cookies for National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day, coming up on March 1. But these aren’t just any peanut butter cookies. There’s: No butter, No white sugar, and No flour used. The cookies are brownie-like in thickness and density, super fudgy, and not at all cakey. They’re slightly chewy around the edges with soft, tender, rich interiors that I just want to sink my teeth into. And the crackled edges are prime for picking off....
